Vampires and werewolves

I inadvertently turned into a Twilight fan, thanks to my director, mother-in-law and various friends. Then I sucked Andy into it with the two movies. And now I've peer pressured a bunch of my friends into it by picking Twilight for my book club meeting.

So now, in addition to Harry Potter and Star Wars, pop-culture references to vampires and werewolves are part of our regular conversation. This goes nicely with Niranjana's occasional imaginative "magic" play.

But maybe I've gone too far.

I asked Niranjana the other day if she'd like to be magic.

"No, I don't want to be magic," she says. "I don't want to be a vampire or a werewolf."

We need to get her into Harry Potter! Ginny Weasley will be wonderful role model for our soccer/Quidditch playing girl.

Vampires and Warlocks

Leif told me this morning he has teeth like a vampire - he is right, his bicuspids are sharp! He thinks he may make a good vampire... skin is pale enough...

Yes, Harry Potter! We have read the first two with Leif and he loves them and the accompanying movies, but Hans (having read them all) has paused at moving onto book #3. Leif asks for it every night though. I keep telling him we are taking a break to read so many of his other books we haven't read in a long time.
