On Memorial Day, Niranjana learned the simple joys of the Slip 'n Slide at her friend Leif's house. She really wanted one in our backyard, so she worked hard to meet several goals set up by Melissa.
About two weeks ago, Niranjana and I went to the store and purchased a Slip 'n Slide that had a blow-up shark and 3-D goggles (quite a contraption, actually). We got home and set it up, and Niranjana was having a blast, though she wasn't really sliding (or slipping) all the way through the shark's mouth.
So my brother, Joe, came up with an idea: We each grabbed an arm and a leg and basically flung Niranjana down the Slip 'n Slide on her tummy. She thought it was great fun, and Joe and I noted that this is what happens when dads and uncles are left alone to supervise children.
Today, Niranjana's best friends were over at the house as temperatures rose north of 90 degrees. The three of them were having a great time, and Niranjana wanted to relive the trick with Daddy and Uncle Joe. So (with mothers clearly watching and, apparently, approving), we flung the kids down the Slip 'n Slide, much to their great delight.
